I notice that this site lumps together three totally different kinds of coffee grinder into one listing. What should be mere color differences are actually different models, some burr mill and some with the chopping blades, so when reading the reviews, take care to note which one they're talking about. Mine was the BLACK+DECKER CBM310BD Burr Mill Coffee Grinder, Black. I bought it to replace an older B&D that failed after several years from worn-out parts. This new one is made somewhat similarly to the old one, with a timer added, so I'm expecting similar longevity (which is good). I liked the last one, and I like this one. The fineness is easily controlled, and it works well enough for espresso. It's a burr mill, so the consistency is pretty good. Sometimes the beans stick, and I have to shake it a little to get it flowing, and I can't make coffee without getting powdered grinds all over the counter, but I don't mind. The drawer and the lid both have micro switches preventing operation while open. Even if the safety mechanisms failed it wouldn't matter, because the moving parts are buried and hidden. You couldn't hurt yourself unless you really tried (on the model that I got). Be sure not to over-fill the reservoir, because it won't run if you can't get the lid pushed all the way down.
