Ground coffee is stored in the bottom cup. Note: It will be easier to remove the lid or the cup from the body by twisting in either direction. Use same method when placing the lid back on the body. Grinding for coarse or fine can be adjusted by turning the adjusting wheel, clockwise for fine grade and counter clockwise for coarse grade. Make sure there are no obstructions between the inner and outer burr when turning the adjusting wheel including any coffee grinds. Note: If the adjusting wheel is over-tightened the ceramic blades will come in contact and result in the handle being difficult to turn and ceramic burr will be damaged.
