love this product. Got it for myself and for my coffee lover friends. All happy. Excellent quality. Thank you!I've been using a Braun electric blade grinder for nearly 20 years to "grind" beans for a drip coffee maker. That grinder has been a champ, but I always wondered why MY coffee never tasted quite as good as that from a cafe, like more bitter and not as "rich." Come to find out from some of my coffee-snob friends that the grinding method is one of the factors that makes a big difference in the resultant brew flavor. After reading about lots of different grinders and NOT wanting to spend over $100 (or several hundred dollars!!!) on a hand grinder, I decided to give this Timemore a shot since the price is decent and the "Max" version can grind more beans. The first brew with grinds from the Timemore had a noticeably improved flavor from anything before, which was a bit on the acidic side. I'm going to have to experiment to see what's best but I'm already happy with the results.Pros: the grind adjustment dial inside is easy to change, and the booklet that came with it gives simple range suggestions for types of brews. The construction feels very solid. The grind appears to be very uniform, no large chunks like I would get with my blade grinder unless I ran it for a long time, which then resulted in too much powdery consistence. Says it can grind for everything from espresso to french press, but we'll have to see how versatile it actually is (I have an espresso machine that I'll have to test with it, but no french press).Cons: it's a hand grinder, so it takes a long time (about a minute for a full 30g of beans). This "Max" version says it holds 30g of beans, and it JUST BARELY does as the lid almost doesn't fit once full, and the hopper is packed full once the grind is done, but it could be the light roast beans I used are less dense and took up more space. So far I'm happy with it considering it's the highest capacity and least expensive of the metal burr grinders with metal construction. Would recommend.Full disclosure: This is my first burr grinder, electric or manual. I have a blade grinder, but wanted something more consistent. Reviews (not just on Amazon, but also on YouTube and such) rates this grinder high. Despite it's price point, it was stated to be a grinder that does a good job! Mostly everything I read was that it outperformed (or at least equally as good) as your typical entry level electric burr grinders.... But this is significantly cheaper! BUT capacity will be less. So there is a tradeoff. It is great for single cup and travel mug brewing. For half or full pots, not so bad (you'll just need to do a couple grind sessions, but I assume coffee connoisseurs may say that's a no go lol).I bought this for Chemex & Funnex brewing and it's great. I would not recommend for espresso, as you will be grinder for awhile. Those are my thoughts, as an entry level coffee brewer :)Of course there are nicer grinders out there that dont have some of the problems you may run into with this one, like having a fairly small hopper, or that its a stepped adjustment system for the coarseness setting, and the basket is a little screwy (its kinda hard to get it lined up right to screw back on). But even though it has some drawbacks, its much nicer than something 20 bucks less, and i would definitely say that its worth it. It feels great to use, the grind is consistent and it grinds the beans really fast. All in all a good product worth the price. ( ps: In my opinion. it really does depend on your budget and what youre looking for)I have small hands and found this incredibly easy to use. Super sharp blades. I’ll buy a couple more at Christmas as giftsArrived with the burrs stuck together. Took a lot of force to get working. When I starting using it, had an issue where the adjustment nut would be too loose for course grinds. Turns out the grinder was missing the spring that holds tension! I requested Amazon contact the seller because I just wanted the past missing. Amazon had no working POC for this company and TIME MORE itself politely declined to help when I contacted them directly. I found a spring myself that worked so happy ending I guess after the hassle. I suspect the grinder I received was previously returned.Feels really comfortable and easy to handle when grinding. Like the fact that there are no ceramic burrs which tend to wear out. Easy dial setting. It's definitely on the expensive side, but I guess quality comes with a price. Will see how it will hold up.I bought the C2 Max after looking to spend a lot more on a quality mill, but having difficulty finding any in stock that weren't 3x the price. I settled on the C2 as the reviews were fairly good, and I don't mill for espresso. Some appear to have issues with that. For pour over this thing works great with good uniformity and a quick grind. My $30 one this is replacing took forever and constantly lost its grind setting during the mill, leaving a lot of boulders in the result. It was near impossible to dial things in unless going near espresso levels.I'm not a big fan of the lid being attached to the lever, but it shouldn't be a big deal unless one is traveling with it. Even then, a good cleaning or chucking it into a bag should be fine. Compared to my $30 mill, this one is significantly louder, or at least the pitch is higher. Some may not like the grippy texture, but I find it really helpful when powering through my 30g loads. All in all it appears to be well built, has a good weight to it, and does a good job at milling a consistent ground. Sure, it's not a Commandante, but it's also not over $300. If starting out on the hand grinding journey, I'd suggest this over something cheaper made of plastic with ceramic burrs. Yes they are a lower point of entry, but will only dissuade from enjoying milling. This is a good beginner one that will cover the user until they're at the point of stepping up to a much more specialized mill.Other grinder it very consistent and very sturdy. The build quality is excellent. It’s easy to clean, with the brush that comes with it.The only thing that I have a problem with is static, though all grinders suffer the problem to some extent. I have found that adding a light spray of water to the beans when filling the hopper reduces the problem. Too much water and the beans stick to the walls of the hopper, too little and the grinds stick to the grinds bin.Overall I’m very happy with this grinder and would happily recommend it to anyone for grinding for pour over, French press, aero press or similar brewing methods.I would not recommend it for espresso grinding as the stepped adjustment is not fine enough to properly dial in a perfect grind size.Really well built, feels solid. Proper bearings on each end of the shaft ensure solid use and lasting quality. Easy to clean and adjust grind size.
