So the first thing you want to know is, "Why am I comparing these two coffee grinders?" Well, they are 2 of only a few units I found where the blender cup is removable and are about the same price. First thing I will say is that I will never again buy a coffee grinder that doesn't have a removable blender cup. It makes life SO much easier, and less likely to spill grinds all over the counter when you've reached the end of your cord length. It also makes it so much easier to pour contents into wherever they are supposed to go. Seriously, the removable blender cup feature is one that I would never live without now that I have it.I have owned the Mira grinder for about a year and I LOVE it. I was actually about ready to buy a second one for a vacation home when I found this new Westinghouse. So now I had to have this one and compare! I was really hopeful, too, because the simple fact is this has a classic stainless look to it that I love. So here is how they measured up:* SIZE: Both are similar in size, but the Westinghouse is definitely more compact. This alone isn't a big enough difference, but if you have a tiny kitchen every inch counts.* CUP SIZE: Mira is bigger. Mira's cup is 80ml (2.7 ounces), which they call 12 cups of coffee. Westinghouse is 62ml (2.1 ounces). Personally, I never fill it up so either one is good. But if you have more than a couple people drinking coffee the Mira cup is 28% larger.* CUP MATERIAL: The Mira cup is sturdy stainless steel, and I like that a lot. The Westinghouse is plastic. That might not be an issue, but clearly if you drop the stainless Mira cup it isn't going to break. For that reason, Mira wins in this category.* CORD: Both units have a cord winding hidden spot in the bottom so you can hide the unused portion. The length is about the same, I measured 41" for the Westinghouse and 42.5" for the Mira.* POWER: Both units claim 200 watt motors, and do seem equally powerful, but the Mira spins a little faster.* NOISE: This is where the Westinghouse wins by a large margin. Now when you are grinding beans, the beans make more noise than the motor I think anyway, and it only takes seconds to grind. However, if noise is important to you then the Westinghouse is noticeably quieter.So there you have it. I must say that I love BOTH of these and don't plan on returning either of them. Either unit will run you about the same price ($22-23 as of this writing), and are both well made units with removable blender cups. Westinghouse has the advantage of being slightly more compact, quieter, and arguably more attractive if you like stainless steel, whereas the Mira has a larger capacity and more durable stainless cup, and has more of a sleek black plastic look.I hope my comparison review has been helpful.
