Well, where do i begin?.. humm ok so when i received this package it was packed very nice. however the wooden knob on the crank wheel was busted in 3 pieces.... fortunately I knew how to repair it. I will say that the bolt that holds it into the crank wheel isn't designed to spin with the knob thus making it stationary so that you burn your skin off using it, so i did remedy this problem myself and it does spin freely now.also this grinder has a heavy duty cast iron MILL gear which is amazing for bustin beans and makes an awesome grind. it is adjustable from fine to coarse... but you have to crank the top nut all the way down for fine. ( that part is easy)upon arrival as well as the knob being broken, most of the screws and bolts were loose and i had to remove the grinder from the base to tighten them. but i will say that the hopper is cast iron as well as the crank wheel and mill gear... but the bracket you see on top holding the crank wheel is plastic.... so as you grind it starts to flex a little. I had to hold one hand on the hopper as the other hand cranked ( not a problem though) it does work great overall and it only took about 7 mins to grind a full cup of grinds. of course you will have to fill the hopper up 3 or 4 times.the drawer is well built wood and doesn't slide out while you are grinding so that's a bonus.I do like this grinder, but the metal on plastic bracket should be all cast iron because it will squeak after a bit of grinding, but nothing a few very small drops of well placed olive oil wont fix:)I cannot give a 5 star rating because of the plastic bracket which was never mentioned in the product description so despite its issues upon arrival i will say this is a great grinder to have once you get it set up right. it doesn't take much to get it into shape so thank you for a nice good ( not great) built grinder:)Red Guerre
