I've been grinding herbs by hand for years. I tend to buy enough herb to last for a week or two so being able to grind it all down at once is a huge time saver. The grinder is nearly perfect allowing for variation in the fineness of the grind. The product comes with a nice little brush which will come in handy however if you empty this out onto a tray or into a container, you'll need two more tools: a funnel and a spike. The funnel will help us pour the herb into a container for storage. The spike should be around pencil diameter. I use a computer repair tool that is plastic but forms a spike at one end and a flat edge at the other. This will be used to help aerate the herb once it's stored in the jar. If the grind you went for was finer than a medium coarseness the herb will compact significantly in a jar making retrieval difficult. The spike will loosen the herb and help stir the powder back into the mix.I tested it the moment it came in. The product is very easy to learn how to use and maintain— I didn’t have to look at the instruction sheet at all. I use a v60 to make pour-over coffee, so I don’t have a traditional coffee making machine or grinder. I only make servings for one or two people in the morning, so the amount of beans you can grind in one go is perfect for the water-bean ratio I’m using. I also like that I can easily control the grind particles. A pre-setting would be nice because having coffee that’s too coarse or too fine can cause problems in the extraction method (too coarse: sour, acidic— too fine: bitter, tasteless). If you’re using this to grind coffee beans like me, just keep an eye on the quality of grind through the viewing window at the top of the product. I think beginners can use this, but if you really want control (pre-settings) then there are other products. Coffee-making is a science so if you’re very particular about coffee, this can either work extremely well for you or just eye your batches carefully. As for herbs, I have yet to try this on the rosemary and other herbs I’m harvesting from my garden this year. I would really like to throw my peppers in there. But based on the coffee test, I would say it’s a perfect product for herb grinding. As a bonus, it fits well on any countertop. I got the wood style grinder and like how it looks. Product care is very easy. Just don’t submerge it in water, lol. This is a great product. This is not a grinder, but a blender. It works on a blender-like principle. It does not spill anything out in my case, like some of the other people have complained. You have to know how to use it correctly. Do not blend for more than 1– 2 seconds at a time. If you blend it for more than two seconds without giving it about a 1-second break, you risk turning your precious recreational herbs into very finely powdered, dust-like substance. But if you blend it for a couple of seconds at a time, you can control how finely the herb is grinded, plus, doing so will not overheat your herb before it’s intended time.I still use the manual hand grinder before the herb is used, just to make sure that if there were any small chunks left, they would be grinded as well, but it’s much easier to do now since the product is already 99% grinded from this blenderI work with my hands a lot, grinding up herb the old fasion way is hard on the hands. I can throw a 1/4 in and pulse it a few times and it's ready to roll. Should of bought one years ago. You do need to plug it in. It comes with a nice brush to get everything out. Make sure your connections are good. Been using it for over a month now no issues. This grinder works as intended. I’ve now figured out how to get the perfect grind. I like the brush that comes with the grinder for brushing out any leftover powder in the grinder.Note: the first one I ordered did not work. I ended up returning it and getting a new one shipped to me. The replacement unit works well. No issues.Best grinder in existence turns about 1/4oz into some beautifully fine grounds in about 5-10 seconds. The included brush is a must-use. Never using a hand-spun grinder again.Would pay extra for a battery option.Buy it for your dried flower. Long pulses for keif like grind or a quick burst for rolling type flowerDoes the job. Probably should have got the one that can do in the dishwasher and remove the blade for easier cleaning.muy bonito estéticamente, pequeño, me gusta que el recipiente es de aluminio, y muele muy bien.I ordered two. The cord did not fit for either. Both returned.Where is the pollen catcher?Great product.it's big enough for me to use when i roll my weekly loints
